About Hungry Bears
Hungry Bears! started in December 2010 and the first Hungry Bears! album is well underway and will comprise a collection of original songs written and performed by them.
When time allows, Rob appears with Devon based band ‘The Filthy Gorgeous’ and can list bands such as ‘Joey The Lips’ amongst the many he has featured in. His virtuosic and multi-styled guitar playing contributes enormously to the trade-mark Hungry Bears! sound.
Derek provides versatile vocals and an 'energy charged' acoustic guitar style that is the 'engine room' of the Hungry Bears! sound.
Equally, when Derek is not appearing with Hungry Bears!, he performs a solo set consisting of well known, but less often played covers, together with some self-penned songs. He has established himself as a solo act in numerous venues in Devon and Cornwall.
Their ‘slimmed-down’ line up and ambitious sound is demonstrated in the choice of complex, interesting and demanding songs that comprise their repertoire, avoiding the stereotypical ‘pub song book’.
Theirs is most certainly not the 'safe route'.
Hungry Bears! exists to entertain, excite and above all have fun both between themselves and, importantly, with their audience.

In order to produce the new songs live, they have added bass player Rich Jones and drummer Nick Carter.
This is a new project and a departure from the usual show that the Hungry Bears duo delivers.
The new band plays a high proportion of original songs, together with a selection of well-known, but not commonly played covers.
The gig dates can be found on the website with the addition of ‘Full Band’ to indicate the line up.
